Imam Mohammed Asafa and Pastor James Wuye
Visit Lebanon to Propagate the Values of Religious Tolerance
 
 

   Imam Mohammed Ashafa and Pastor James Wuye, co-founders of the Nigerian Interfaith
Mediation Centre visited Lebanon on 27th March to share experiences with various Lebanese
stakeholders on their work, which centers on alternative conflict resolution between Christian
and Muslims.

   Activities during their visit which was coordinated by Adyan, the Lebanese Foundation for
Inter-faith Studies and Spiritual Solidarity, featured a film show at the St Joseph University,
Beirut based on the extensive work of the two clerics in Nigeria’s Plateau and Kaduna States
aim at fostering sustainable reconciliation among Moslems and Christian in conflict.

   Imam Ashafa and Pastor Wuye also held interactive sessions with the Lebanese
communities in Beirut, university students in Beirut and Miziara in north Lebanon which is
noted for being the home town of the first Lebanese migrant to Nigeria.
