Moukarem family Donates Family House to Taura Local Government

In a spectacular show of appreciation and acknowledgement of the traditional Nigerian hospitality showed to his parent, who arrived in Nigeria in 1931, Mr. Essam Moukarem, recently donated the family house built in Majia, Jigawa State to the Taura Local Government. The donation, comprising a bungalow building, a large store, a new generator and a well, is to be used for any purpose deemed necessary in the interest of the local community.

On his part, Mr. Essam Moukarem is well known for his pioneering efforts in the promotion of social development of the peoples of Nigeria and Lebanon. He is on the membership of various Non-Governmental Organisations in Lebanon and Nigeria. His spectacular interest in the new Lebanese Nigerian Friendship Association has contributed to his election as current Vice Chairman of its Board of Trustees.

عائلة مكارم تهب بيت الأسرة لحكومة تاورا المحلية:

كعربون شكر وامتنان للشعب النيجيري للحفاوة التى تلقاها أسرته عند وصولها الى نيجيريا فى عام 1931، قدم السيد عصام مكارم بيت الأسرة، الواقع في ماجيا، ولاية جيغاوا، لحكومة تاورا المحلية. وتضمنت هذه الهبة بيت من طابق واحد، ومخزن صغير، ومولد كهربائي، على أنّ تُستعمل لخدمة المجتمع المحلي.

ولطالما اشتهر السيد عصام مكارم بالجهود التي بذلها لتعزيز التنمية الاجتماعية في نيجيريا ولبنان، وهو عضو في العديد من المنظمات غير الحكومية في نيجيريا ولبنان. ولعب دوراً هاماً في تأسيس جمعية الصداقة اللبنانية النيجيرية.
